How Pitch Avatar and Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation made mandatory safety training at RoboLab unusual, interactive, and something every student actually completes.
Safety training is mandatory. But at RoboLab, it didn’t have to feel like a formality students forget the moment it’s over. Say hello to Robi.
Robi is an AI avatar we built together with RoboLab, an innovation initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, with its pilot lab at Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture.
Before students and researchers can touch any equipment, they have to pass a safety training – essential and mandatory. So the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine wanted to make the training unusual and interactive, to align with the image of an innovative lab. The idea was to create something students actually remember, not just keep it formal.
In line with that brief, we created Robi from scratch — an AI avatar that runs the safety training. She walks students through the mandatory training slide by slide and answers their questions on the spot – no waiting for someone to be free, no ‘I’ll check and get back to you’. With her futuristic look, Robi fits perfectly into RoboLab’s image, turning what’s usually a formal briefing into an engaging experience. NNow every student completes the training to the same standard, but at their own pace — 100% completion, every time.
RoboLab now gets detailed engagement analytics for every session: who completed the training, what they asked, where attention dropped off. The team now sees not just who finished, but how well the material actually landed.
A multi-lesson module is already live, with more on the way — as the lab grows, so does Robi.
